We're currently recruiting for an HSEQ Specialist to support operations at a busy Southampton-based logistics terminal. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong health & safety, compliance, or quality background to develop their experience in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
The Role
You'll work closely with the HSEQ Manager to support all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality across the site. This role combines administration, auditing, compliance, and operational support, helping to ensure the business maintains high standards and meets ISO requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Support the HSEQ Manager with day-to-day HSEQ activities.
Carry out internal audits and active monitoring across departments and facilities.
Assist with internal and external ISO audits, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Maintain and update SOPs, risk assessments, QCPs and safe systems of work.
Produce reports on KPIs, incidents, fuel usage, claims and compliance data.
Input and manage HSEQ data using Excel and internal systems.
Support incident reporting, investigations and legal documentation.
Assist with environmental monitoring and utility usage reporting.
Help maintain claims, insurance and compliance records.
Provide general administrative support to the HSEQ function.
Act as a positive ambassador for HSEQ standards across the business.
About You
Previous experience in an HSEQ, compliance, safety, or quality-focused role.
Strong administration and organisational skills.
Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Able to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
Proactive, flexible, and able to work effectively under pressure.
Essential Requirements
A recognised Health & Safety, Environmental or Quality qualification.
Full UK driving licence.
Fluent English, written and spoken.
NEBOSH qualification.
IOSH membership.
ISO auditing experience.
