Maintenance Technician

St Athan, South Wales Competitive Salary + Benefits

Manpower is recruiting on behalf of Aston Martin for a Maintenance Technician to join their Facilities & Maintenance team at their world-class manufacturing facility in St Athan.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the world's most iconic luxury automotive brands and play a key role in supporting the production of exceptional vehicles. If you're an experienced Maintenance Technician, Multi-Skilled Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking for your next challenge within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you.

At Aston Martin, excellence extends beyond the vehicles they build. It is reflected in the people, equipment and facilities that make their creation possible. As a Maintenance Technician, you will help ensure manufacturing operations run safely, efficiently and reliably, reducing downtime and improving equipment performance across the site.
Working closely with Facilities Engineers, production teams and fellow technicians, you will support the maintenance of manufacturing plant, machinery and building services, while also assisting with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and facilities. Your contribution will have a direct impact on operational performance and manufacturing efficiency.

The Role
This is a varied and hands-on position where no two days are the same. You could be diagnosing and repairing a critical equipment failure to minimise production downtime, carrying out planned preventative maintenance activities, or supporting the installation and relocation of manufacturing equipment.

You will be responsible for fault finding, troubleshooting and repairing a range of manufacturing systems while maintaining a proactive approach to identifying potential issues before they impact production. You will also be involved in spare parts management, equipment improvements, maintenance documentation and continuous improvement activities aimed at increasing equipment reliability and reducing breakdowns.
Working safely at all times, you will collaborate with colleagues across the business to ensure all maintenance activities are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.

What We're Looking For
We're seeking a skilled engineer with a strong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance background and experience working within manufacturing, production, industrial or automotive environments.
You will ideally hold an Apprenticeship, BTEC or HNC qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. You should have proven experience fault-finding and maintaining manufacturing equipment, with knowledge of PLCs, inverters, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, sensors and machine safety systems.

Experience with industrial robot maintenance would be highly advantageous, as would previous experience within automotive manufacturing. We are looking for someone who is proactive, solutions-focused and committed to delivering high standards of safety, quality and reliability.

A flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns is essential.

Why Apply?
This is more than a maintenance position. It's an opportunity to join a globally recognised luxury automotive manufacturer where your expertise will directly support the production of some of the world's most desirable vehicles.

You'll be part of a highly skilled and supportive team where your knowledge is valued, your ideas are encouraged and your work makes a genuine difference every day. From improving equipment reliability to supporting new facility installations and responding to critical breakdowns, you'll play an important role in helping Aston Martin deliver manufacturing excellence.

Diversity and Inclusion
Aston Martin is committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected and empowered to thrive. Diversity of thought, experience and background is fundamental to their success, and applications are welcomed from all qualified candidates.
