Location: St Athan, Barry
Job Type: Full-time, Temporary Ongoing
Pay Rate: £25.44 per hour
Manpower is excited to be recruiting on behalf of a prestigious luxury automotive manufacturer for experienced Paint Sprayers to join their world-class production facility in St Athan.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly skilled team responsible for producing some of the world's most desirable vehicles. Combining advanced manufacturing technology with exceptional craftsmanship, this iconic British brand is recognised globally for its commitment to quality, innovation and performance.
As a Paint Sprayer, you will play a vital role in the final appearance and quality of luxury vehicles, applying paint finishes to the highest manufacturing standards. Working within a state-of-the-art paint shop, you will be responsible for preparing and painting vehicle bodies using a range of coatings including etch primer, primer, base coat and clear coat. You will ensure each vehicle receives a flawless finish while maintaining strict quality, safety and production standards.
The role will involve preparing vehicles for the paint process through activities such as degreasing, tacking off and applying adhesion promoters. You will inspect surfaces for defects prior to paint application, apply coatings using hand-spraying techniques and identify any contaminants or imperfections throughout the process. Working closely with technicians, team leaders and other departments, you will contribute to achieving production targets while delivering the exceptional quality expected of a luxury automotive brand. You may also provide support to preparation and polishing teams when required.
To be successful, you will have previous experience as an Automotive Paint Sprayer, Vehicle Painter or Paint Technician within a manufacturing, body shop or automotive environment. You will possess a strong understanding of paint shop processes, spray booth operations and automotive refinishing techniques, together with excellent attention to detail and a passion for delivering consistently high-quality results. Normal colour vision is essential due to the nature of the role.
Formal qualifications in vehicle paint, body repair or refinishing would be advantageous, including City & Guilds, BTEC, IMI or equivalent automotive certifications, although these are not essential for candidates with relevant industry experience.
In return, you will have the opportunity to work within a modern manufacturing environment alongside a skilled and passionate team. This role offers competitive hourly pay, access to advanced paint technology and the chance to gain valuable experience with one of the automotive industry's most respected luxury brands.
If you are an experienced Paint Sprayer looking for your next opportunity within a premium automotive environment, we would love to hear from you.
