• Grounds Maintenance Operative / Arborist (CS30/31, CSCS)

  📍 Locations: Polegate, East Sussex (BN26) or Maidstone, Kent (ME)
  💰 Pay: £121 - £130 per day (depending on experience)
  ⏰ Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm (9.5-hour day)
  💷 Overtime Rates:

  • 1.5x pay for evenings and Saturdays
  • 2x pay for Sundays

  About the Role

  We are looking for experienced Grounds Maintenance Operatives / Arborist Operatives to join a growing team based in Polegate or Maidstone.

  This is a hands-on outdoor role involving vegetation management, tree works support, site safety, machinery operation and general grounds maintenance activities. The successful candidate will be safety-focused, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.

  Regular overtime opportunities are available, including evenings and weekends.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out grounds maintenance, vegetation clearance and arboricultural support activities
  • Operate and maintain chippers, strimmers and associated machinery
  • Complete daily safety checks and site risk assessments
  • Ensure work areas are safe, organised and correctly signed/barriered
  • Use PPE and site safety equipment in accordance with company procedures
  • Report hazards, near misses and safety concerns using Procore
  • Complete site paperwork and digital records accurately
  • Maintain tools and equipment to company standards
  • Assist team leaders with site activities and project delivery
  • Support and mentor less experienced operatives where required
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers and members of the public

  Essential Requirements

  To be considered, you must hold:

  ✅ NPTC CS30 (Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross Cutting)

  ✅ NPTC CS31 (Felling Small Trees)

  ✅ CSCS Card

  ✅ Chipper Qualification

  ✅ Strimmer Qualification

  Desirable Qualifications

  The following are advantageous but not essential:

  • CS32
  • IPAF
  • MEWP Certification
  • First Aid at Work
  • Lantra Qualifications
  • Arboricultural or Forestry Experience
