Utility Arborist / Utility Tree Surgeon (UA Qualified)

📍 Locations: Polegate, East Sussex OR Maidstone, Kent

💷 Pay: £121 - £130 per day (DOE)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-5:00pm (9.5-hour day)

Overtime Available

✅ 1.5x Pay - Evenings & Saturdays

Essential Qualifications

Arboriculture Qualifications

✔ CS30 - Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross-Cutting

✔ CS31 - Fell & Process Small Trees

✔ Climb Trees & Perform Aerial Rescue (CS38 Equivalent)

✔ CS39 - Chainsaw from Rope & Harness

✔ CS40 - Pruning Operations

Utility Arboriculture Qualifications

✔ UA1 - Basic Electrical Knowledge & Tree Work Awareness

✔ UA2.1 - Pruning Trees Near Live Power Lines

✔ UA2.2 - Tree Felling Near Power Lines

✔ UA2.3 - Aerial Tree Work Near Power Lines

Desirable

We are looking for experienced Utility Arborists / Utility Tree Surgeons to join established teams in Polegate or Maidstone.

Working on behalf of utility network clients, you'll carry out tree surgery and vegetation management near overhead power lines, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Tree Surgery & Vegetation Management

  • Tree felling, dismantling, pruning and clearance works
  • Aerial tree work using ropes and harnesses
  • Utility arboriculture operations near overhead power lines
  • Safe operation and maintenance of chainsaws, climbing equipment and associated machinery

Health & Safety

  • Complete daily risk assessments
  • Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures
  • Identify and report hazards, near misses and safety concerns
  • Ensure sites are correctly signed, barriered and safe for the public

Equipment & Compliance

  • Carry out daily equipment inspections
  • Complete routine maintenance checks
  • Record site activities and compliance information using Procore
  • Report defects and operational issues promptly

Team Working

  • Work closely with Team Leaders and Supervisors
  • Support less experienced operatives where required
  • Contribute positively to a professional and safety-conscious working environment
