Monday to Friday with an occasional Saturday on a rota

Job Responsibilities

• Safely transport cylinders to customer sites and scheduled delivery points across the region.
• Load and unload cylinders in line with safe handling procedures and company requirements.
• Carry out pre-start checks and ensure the vehicle is maintained to a high standard.
• Follow all relevant road safety rules, site rules and operational procedures at all times.
• Complete delivery documentation accurately, including delivery notes and any required paperwork.
• Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules while maintaining safe driving practices.
• Report any defects, incidents or delays promptly to the transport team.
• Maintain a professional manner with customers and site personnel.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence with entitlement appropriate for the vehicle being operated.
• Experience driving in a commercial distribution environment (preferred).
• Strong understanding of safe loading, securement and handling practices for heavy goods.
• Good knowledge of UK road regulations and safe driving standards.
• Ability to complete paperwork accurately and on time.
• Good communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with customers and sites.
• Reliability and punctuality, with a commitment to completing deliveries safely.
• Comfort working to schedules and adapting to route or delivery changes when required.
• Awareness of health and safety expectations, including risk awareness and safe working practices.
• Basic IT or device familiarity for recording deliveries and using company systems (where required).
