Class 2 Hiab Driver - Barry, South Wales

Job Responsibilities
- Operate a Class 2 vehicle with Hiab (lorry loader) safely and efficiently.
- Carry out deliveries and collections in and around the local area, ensuring timely completion of scheduled work.
- Perform pre-use vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Secure loads correctly and use appropriate lifting techniques to minimise risk and damage.
- Follow all relevant road traffic laws, working time regulations, and company safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and complete paperwork in line with company processes.
- Communicate professionally with customers and site contacts, ensuring a smooth delivery experience.
- Adhere to safe working practices when operating the Hiab, including correct exclusion zones and lifting plans.
- Keep the vehicle clean and presentable, and report any issues to the transport team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Valid Digital Tachograph card.
- Experience operating Hiab / lorry loader equipment (with relevant training/authorisation) - Brick Grab
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety checks and defect reporting.
- Ability to secure loads correctly and work safely at height and during lifting operations.
- Good knowledge of UK road regulations and safe driving practices.
- Reliable timekeeping and the ability to manage your route and schedule effectively.
- Professional communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Comfortable working in a physically active role, including loading/unloading support where required.
