Job Responsibilities

  • Undertake asbestos sampling and analysis in line with relevant UK standards and company procedures.
  • Prepare and process samples for laboratory testing, ensuring correct labelling, chain of custody, and documentation.
  • Analyse results accurately and produce clear, professional findings for inclusion in reports.
  • Maintain high standards of quality control and ensure work is carried out safely and consistently.
  • Support survey and management activities by providing technical input where required.
  • Review documentation for completeness and compliance, escalating any issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of samples, results, and reporting activity in accordance with internal systems.
  • Work collaboratively with surveyors, project teams, and clients to ensure timely delivery of outputs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Asbestos Analyst or in a closely related asbestos testing role.
  • Strong knowledge of asbestos sampling and analysis practices, including safe handling and accurate documentation.
  • Ability to interpret laboratory results and produce clear, technically sound reporting.
  • Working knowledge of UK asbestos guidance and compliance expectations (including relevant sampling and analytical standards).
  • Relevant certification and/or accreditation for asbestos analysis (as applicable to the role and methods used).
  • Competence in maintaining chain of custody, sample tracking, and quality assurance processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Good IT skills for report writing and maintaining records in internal systems.
