Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct asbestos surveys in line with current UK guidance and relevant standards.
  • Undertake management surveys, refurbishment/demolition surveys, and re-inspection surveys as required.
  • Plan survey activities, including site preparation, access arrangements, and health and safety considerations.
  • Collect and record accurate information on asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), including location, condition, and extent.
  • Produce clear, detailed survey reports suitable for dutyholder and client use.
  • Maintain accurate records, including survey notes, sample logs (where applicable), and supporting documentation.
  • Work closely with clients, site teams, and project stakeholders to ensure surveys are delivered efficiently and safely.
  • Support internal quality assurance processes to ensure reports and findings meet required expectations.
  • Provide practical recommendations to support risk assessment and management planning.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Asbestos Surveyor, with a strong understanding of asbestos surveying methodologies.
  • UKAS or equivalent knowledge of survey standards and compliance expectations (as applicable to the role).
  • UKATA or equivalent asbestos training and certification (including surveying qualifications).
  • Strong report-writing skills, producing structured, accurate documentation with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and explaining findings clearly.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety requirements for asbestos-related work.
  • Ability to work independently on site while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Competence in using mobile technology and standard office systems to manage survey records.
  • Full UK driving licence (where site travel is required).
