Role: CNC Turner - Setter/Operator
Location: Bristol
Salary: Negotiable
Term: 6 months (extension or permanent available)
Working hours: 6am - 2pm/2pm - 10pm (early finish on Fridays)
A leading precision engineering and advanced manufacturing business is looking for an experienced CNC Turner - Setter/Operator to join its manufacturing team in Bristol.
You will set and operate Fanuc-controlled CNC turning machines, producing high-precision components to engineering drawings, specifications and tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC turning machines.
- Set tooling, workholding, soft jaws, datums and offsets.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Inspect components using micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and plug gauges.
- Optimise speeds, feeds and cycle times.
- Troubleshoot tooling, programme and machine issues.
- Complete production and quality documentation.
- Support continuous improvement, quality and safety standards.
About You
- Proven experience as a CNC Turner / Setter-Operator.
- Strong experience with Fanuc controls.
- Confident setting CNC turning machines from drawings.
- Good knowledge of engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T.
- Experienced using precision measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Able to consistently produce quality components to specification.
Desirable: Aerospace/precision engineering experience, multi-spindle or multi-turret machines, OEE/FourJaw, CMM or Opticline experience.
