The Opportunity
An established aviation organisation is looking to add an experienced NDT Inspector - Level 2 to its Engineering team. Working within a regulated aircraft maintenance environment, you will support the delivery of safe, compliant and high-quality Non-Destructive Testing activities across a varied fleet.
This is an excellent opportunity for an NDT professional looking to work in a fast-paced aerospace environment where safety, quality and regulatory compliance are at the heart of everything the business does. The role will involve both base maintenance and occasional support at remote locations when operational requirements demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out NDT inspections on aircraft and aircraft components in accordance with approved procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Support the NDT Level 3 and wider engineering team in the delivery of inspection activities.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with maintenance manuals, company procedures and applicable regulations.
- Complete and maintain accurate inspection and maintenance documentation.
- Assist with the coordination of NDT activities alongside aircraft maintenance operations to ensure work is completed efficiently and to schedule.
- Support aircraft maintenance activities away from base, including defect assessment and operational requirements.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and compliance at all times.
- Promote a positive reporting culture and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with task planning, workload prioritisation and team development.
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional working environment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and customers.
Requirements
Essential
- Previous NDT inspection experience within aerospace or aircraft maintenance environments.
- Level 2 certification in:
- Eddy Current Testing (ET/EC)
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Experience working within regulated maintenance environments.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace NDT processes and standards.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of aircraft maintenance regulatory requirements.
Desirable
- Magnetic Particle Testing (MT/MPI)
- Penetrant Testing (PT/FPI)
- Radiographic Testing (RT)
- Military aviation or defence sector experience
- Apprenticeship, engineering qualification or equivalent military training
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives
