Manpower is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Electrician on behalf of a leading advanced manufacturing company based in Duxford. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation that is at the forefront of innovation, operating within a highly technical and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
As an Electrician, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment across the site. You will be responsible for both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, helping to minimise downtime and support continuous operational improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, identifying effective corrective actions.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential hazards, defects, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with current electrical regulations and company safety standards.
- Test, commission, and verify the performance of newly installed electrical systems and equipment.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities and respond promptly to breakdowns.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to support operational efficiency and site-wide improvement projects.
- Promote a strong safety culture and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Requirements
- Completed a recognised Electrical or Engineering Apprenticeship.
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services (C&G 2357/5357) or equivalent.
- AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2) certification.
- Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (BS 7671).
- Proven experience maintaining and operating industrial electrical plant and equipment.
- Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, including HAZOP and FMEA.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, process safety, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to interpret technical information and work safely to established procedures and regulations.
Desirable Qualifications
- C&G 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification.
- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering.
- CompEx certification.
- Experience within a manufacturing, production, or advanced engineering environment.
