Manufacturing Technician II - Temporary | Birmingham | £13.81 p/h | Immediate Start

The Assignment

We have an immediate requirement for a Manufacturing Technician II to join a leading organisation within the diagnostics and life sciences sector in Birmingham.

This is a 6-month temporary assignment supporting a busy Quality Control Testing team within a manufacturing laboratory environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring products meet quality standards through testing, data verification and equipment support activities.

The assignment is expected to run for 6 months, with the potential for extension for the right candidate.

What the Work Involves

Working as part of a laboratory-based manufacturing team, your duties will include:

- Performing QC testing of components and finished products using automated analytical equipment
- Managing inventory and ensuring materials are available to support planned activities
- Carrying out data checking, process verification and accurate documentation activities
- Operating within SOPs while supporting equipment, laboratory and continuous improvement activities

Hours, Shifts & Pay

Shift pattern: Days only, Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30
Pay rate: £13.81 p/h
Pay frequency: Weekly
Holiday pay: Accrued and paid weekly
Overtime: Available

What We Need From You

- Previous experience working within a laboratory environment (essential)
- GCSE-level education or equivalent; a relevant scientific degree would be advantageous
- Experience following SOPs and working within controlled processes
- Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and digital documentation systems
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to completing work right first time
- Able to work safely with chemicals and laboratory materials while following PPE requirements
- Comfortable with manual handling tasks, including lifting items up to 20kg where required
- Flexibility to support overtime, including occasional weekends, when business needs require it
- Right to work in the UK - documentation will be required before start
