Manpower is currently recruiting for a Material Handler to join a leading manufacturing and production facility based in Heysham. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with warehouse, production, or material handling experience who are looking to develop their skills within a well-established and safety-focused environment.
This role offers full training, career progression opportunities, and the chance to progress to Material Handler II (Band 2) upon successful completion of training and demonstrated competence.
What You'll Be Doing
Picking, packing, labelling, and preparing materials for production and dispatch.
Moving raw materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility.
Operating manual and automated equipment following training and standard procedures.
Completing production and stock documentation accurately.
Carrying out basic quality and visual inspections.
Supporting stock checks and reporting discrepancies.
Performing basic equipment and safety checks.
Maintaining high housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles.
Working closely with Supervisors and team members to meet production targets.
Supporting continuous improvement activities and team initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience within a warehouse, manufacturing, production, or logistics environment is desirable.
Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Basic IT and computer skills.
Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
Ability to follow processes, procedures, and work instructions accurately.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
Good teamwork and communication abilities.
Physically capable of manual handling duties.
Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, or continuous improvement practices would be advantageous.
Experience handling or packing chemicals would be beneficial but is not essential.
