Mechanical Quality Inspector

Havant, Hampshire

37 Hours Per Week | Monday to Thursday | Immediate Start Available

£15 to £18 per hour DOE

Are you an experienced Mechanical Quality Inspector with a background in precision engineering? Do you enjoy working in a quality-focused manufacturing environment where accuracy, attention to detail, and continuous improvement are valued?

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering business supplying high-specification components and assemblies to highly regulated industries including aerospace, subsea, and oil & gas.

The Role

As a Mechanical Quality Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring components meet customer specifications and quality standards before dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical and visual inspection of precision-machined components.
  • Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Use a range of inspection equipment including verniers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment where required.
  • Complete and maintain quality documentation including FAIRs, NCRs, SCARs, and customer reports.
  • Review material certifications and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor and report non-conformances, escalating issues when required.
  • Ensure all inspection activities comply with customer and quality management system requirements.
  • Prioritise workload effectively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Previous experience in a Mechanical Inspector or Quality Inspector position.
  • Experience within a precision engineering, machining, manufacturing, or aerospace environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using a variety of manual measuring equipment.
  • Knowledge of quality documentation and inspection processes.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.

Desirable

  • CMM inspection experience.
  • AS9100 or ISO9001 quality system knowledge.
  • Experience completing FAIRs, NCRs, and customer quality documentation.
