Assessment Coordinator
Job Purpose
The Assessment Coordinator supports the delivery of university assessment processes, ensuring assessments are organised in line with agreed regulations and deadlines. They assist academics and programme administrators in the preparation and administration of assessments, working to maintain assessment standards and support smooth examination operations.
Main Activities and Responsibilities
1. Assist with the coordination of assessment activities, ensuring all deadlines and regulatory
requirements are met.
2. Support the upload and management of assessment materials on digital platforms.
3. Help organise invigilation arrangements, including scheduling and communicating with invigilators.
4. Provide frontline support to students and academic staff with assessment-related queries.
5. Work closely with programme administrators to ensure assessment processes are consistent and compliant.
6. Support the creation and distribution of assessment timetables and schedules.
7. Assist with the collation and preparation of documentation for exam boards.
8. Maintain accurate records of assessment submissions and related processes.
9. Support process improvements and contribute to the review of assessment administration.
10. Collaborate with other teams such as Quality Assurance and Timetabling to support assessment delivery.
11. Supporting University events such as enrolment, graduation, open days, and clearing as required.
Essential Criteria
1. Experience in administration or coordination within an academic or professional environment.
2. Good organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
3. Effective communication skills with the ability to support students and staff.
4. Familiarity with university assessment regulations and procedures or a willingness to learn.
5. Experience using digital platforms or software for document or assessment management.
6. Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
7. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
Desirable Criteria
9. Experience in assessment or examination administration in higher education.
10. Knowledge of invigilation or examination scheduling processes.
11. Basic data management or reporting skills.
Pay
Between £13.99 -£15.07 per hour, depending on experience
Working Hours
Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm - The role is a temporary role for a 5 week period
