Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Location: St Athan, South Wales
Hours: 7:00am - 4:00pm Monday to Thursday, 7:00am - 12:00pm Friday

Manpower is proud to be recruiting on behalf of Aston Martin for an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join the Manufacturing Engineering team at the iconic St Athan production facility.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the continuous improvement of Aston Martin's Tub and Body Construction operations, supporting both current vehicle programmes and future model introductions. Working within a highly skilled engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering robust manufacturing processes, dimensional and quality improvements, facility developments, and production support initiatives that contribute directly to the build quality of some of the world's most desirable luxury performance vehicles.

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead and support manufacturing projects across multiple sites, ensuring new and existing production processes are optimised for quality, efficiency, safety, and cost. You will work closely with Product Engineering, Production, Quality, Logistics, Facilities, and external suppliers to develop and implement tooling, jigs, fixtures, layouts, and manufacturing processes that meet demanding quality and performance standards.

The role will involve developing and maintaining detailed process documentation, supporting new model introductions from concept through to commissioning, driving dimensional and quality improvements, resolving production issues, and implementing continuous improvement activities across the body construction facility. You will also be responsible for evaluating tooling requirements, supporting supplier quality activities, contributing to facility and layout planning projects, and representing Manufacturing Engineering within key business meetings and project reviews.

This position offers a varied and hands-on working environment, with approximately 50% of your time spent on the shop floor and 50% within the office. You will act as the engineering lead on assigned projects, collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and operational excellence.

To be successful, you will have previous Manufacturing Engineering experience within the automotive or aerospace sector and a recognised engineering apprenticeship. You will possess a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling development, problem-solving methodologies, data analysis, and continuous improvement techniques. Experience supporting low-volume manufacturing environments, together with the ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels, will be highly beneficial.

Applicants must hold a minimum ONC qualification alongside substantial engineering experience within a motor vehicle manufacturing environment. A HNC or degree qualification would be advantageous. Experience of new model introduction, tooling development, facility installation, and commissioning activities is also desirable.

This opportunity would suit an adaptable and proactive engineer who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges, driving improvement initiatives, and working within a fast-paced environment where quality, innovation, and craftsmanship are at the heart of everything they do.

If you are looking to take the next step in your manufacturing engineering career with one of the world's most prestigious automotive brands, we would love to hear from you.
