HGV Class 2 Driver - Temp to Perm (Manpower - Erith)

Salary: £39,000 per annum (£18.75 per hour)
Contract: Temp to Perm (12-week qualifying period)
Manpower is currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver on behalf of a leading logistics client based in Erith. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and professional driver seeking a long-term role with permanent prospects after 12 weeks.
This is a multi-drop position and plays a vital role in supporting efficient operations and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 2 (Category C) vehicles, including double deck units, delivering goods across planned routes
• Complete multi-drop deliveries efficiently and on schedule
• Carry out pre and post vehicle checks, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance
• Secure loads safely to prevent damage during transit
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage
• Plan routes effectively to maximise efficiency and minimise delays
• Communicate clearly with transport teams and customers regarding deliveries
• Assist with the loading and unloading of goods when required
• Adhere to all UK driving regulations, tachograph rules, and health & safety standards

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Minimum 2 years' HGV Class 2 driving experience
• Experience in multi-drop delivery environments (essential)
• Strong understanding of UK road transport legislation and safety standards
• Physically capable of handling loading, unloading, and securing loads
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Clean driving record
• Flexibility to work varying shifts if required
