Global Ambassador Job description
Role
The role of a BCU Global Ambassador is to work as part of highly motivated Go Abroad team. The role supports a variety of responsibilities across on-campus and university wide events. This includes but is not limited to:
o
Promotional Events, such as Open days or Go Abroad promotional events
o
Short presentations to students
o
Supporting the creation of promotional or marketing literature
o
Social media on various platforms (such as posts or stories on Instagram etc.)
o
Participating in activities to encourage other BCU students to take part in international opportunities
o
To conduct Campus Tours to potential students and guests
The Global Ambassador role is an excellent opportunity to gain some valuable work experience and develop your personal and professional skills. The Go Abroad team will provide on-the-job training opportunities throughout the year to post holders to encourage skills development and increase employability.
This is a paid opportunity for up to £13.45 per hour. The number of hours will vary each month and will depend on the projects and events taking place organised by the Go Abroad Team. This is an events driven role. It is likely that there would be approximately 3-6 hours a week, but total hours will be agreed with successful candidates, and subject to change.
Qualified applicants will have
o
Experience of study or work abroad as part of the BCU go abroad offering (e.g., semester/year abroad, international summer programme, and work or volunteering abroad)
o
Strong communication, public speaking, and organisational skills
o
Ability to work alone or as part of a team
o
Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, accurate information about BCU's international opportunities from a student perspective, giving advice to students and sharing relevant knowledge of the Go Abroad process at BCU.
o
Ability to work with professionals, educators, and fellow students
o
Creativity and able to use your initiative
o
Eagerness to learn
Commitment required
This post is flexible to suit your academic studies as academic commitments should come first. Events are organised and take place frequently but often there will be ad-hoc events that come up at irregular intervals throughout the term. Post-holders are informed of events taking place throughout each semester. Once you have signed up to work at an event, you have committed yourself to attending. Plenty of notice must be given if you are unable to work. International Students on study visas should ensure that they are not working more than the maximum number of hours as detailed on their visa during term-time.
