Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

Pay: £16.45-£20.02 per hour

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Hours: Full-time

Manpower is recruiting a qualified engineer to maintain mechanical plant and building services in a busy healthcare environment.

Develop your expertise working on specialist engineering systems, with technical training and the opportunity to move into permanent employment.

What you'll do

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault finding and reactive repairs.
• Maintain heating, ventilation, hot water and associated mechanical and electrical services.
• Service specialist equipment, including sterilisation and decontamination systems.
• Follow safety procedures and work alongside contractors.
• Join an on-call rota and work one weekend day per month, with a day off in lieu the following week.

What you'll need

• A recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship.
• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Experience in mechanical, facilities or building services maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding skills and ability to work independently.
• Flexibility for on-call and out-of-hours duties.

Healthcare experience is desirable, not essential.
