The Role
We are seeking qualified and motivated Building Surveyors / Domestic Energy Assessors to support a major residential surveying programme across Salisbury and Dorset. This role involves conducting residential property inspections, condition surveys, and Domestic Energy Assessments (EPCs), providing accurate reporting and asset information to support estate management strategies.
This is a field-based role with an expectation of completing five or more surveys per day. Surveyors will be paid on a per-survey basis rather than hourly, offering the opportunity to maximise earnings through productivity and efficient route planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site inspections and condition surveys of residential properties.
- Identify, assess, and record building defects and maintenance requirements.
- Capture photographs, measurements, and detailed survey notes during inspections.
- Produce concise, accurate, and professional survey reports.
- Undertake Domestic Energy Assessments and generate Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).
- Maintain and update survey data, asset registers, and condition records.
- Support capital investment planning through the provision of accurate asset information.
- Ensure statutory compliance-related information is accurately captured and recorded.
- Interpret drawings, plans, and property-related documentation where required.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and security requirements when working in occupied properties and live environments.
- Manage daily workloads efficiently to meet survey completion targets.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA).
- Strong knowledge of residential building construction, building fabric, and common defects.
- Experience conducting condition surveys and property inspections.
- Competent in site measurement, defect identification, and report writing.
- Full UK driving licence and access to reliable transport.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently across multiple locations.
- Eligibility to obtain BPSS Security Clearance.
- Willingness to undergo a DBS check as part of the onboarding process.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent qualification.
- Membership of a relevant professional body.
- Experience working within housing, public sector, or asset management environments.
- Knowledge of planned maintenance and lifecycle asset management principles.

Remuneration
- PAYE employment.
- £85 paid per completed survey.
- Expected output of 5+ surveys per day.

Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the projects undertaken, all successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance and successfully complete a DBS check before commencing work.
