Are you an organised and proactive logistics professional looking to develop your career within a fast-growing international business? We're recruiting an Italian-Speaking Logistics Assistant to support global logistics operations, ensuring critical equipment, agricultural inputs, spare parts, and technology are delivered on time to projects across Africa.
Working closely with the Logistics Specialist and stakeholders across multiple countries, you'll play a key role in coordinating shipments, managing logistics documentation, liaising with freight forwarders and customs agents, and ensuring every consignment is tracked accurately from origin to destination.
What You'll Be Doing
- Coordinating international shipments and monitoring the movement of equipment and materials across multiple locations.
- Maintaining shipment trackers and providing timely updates on delivery milestones, risks, and delays.
- Obtaining freight quotations and managing day-to-day communication with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs agents, and suppliers.
- Preparing, checking, and administering shipping documentation to support efficient customs clearance.
- Recording logistics activity, purchase orders, goods receipts, and logistics costs within business systems.
- Reconciling freight, customs, and transport invoices while supporting logistics reporting and cost-control activities.
- Supporting farm managers and internal stakeholders with clear communication on shipment status and delivery timelines.
What We're Looking For
- 1-3 years' experience in logistics coordination, freight forwarding, import/export administration, or a similar logistics environment.
- Experience working with sea freight, customs processes, and international shipping documentation.
- Good understanding of Incoterms 2020 and international supply chain processes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to record keeping and administration.
- Confident Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and accurate data management.
- Fluent Italian and English, both written and spoken. French language skills would be advantageous.
- A proactive, adaptable, and self-sufficient approach, with the confidence to work effectively in a fast-paced international environment.
