Are you a hands-on technician with a passion for agricultural machinery?

Our client is looking for an experienced Workshop Technician to join their engineering team and play a key role in the testing and development of tractors and driveline systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on engineering, solving technical problems and seeing their work make a direct contribution to vehicle development.

Working alongside Test Engineers and other technicians, you'll help prepare, test and maintain tractors, investigate faults and ensure testing activities are completed safely, accurately and to schedule.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting Test Engineers with tractor driveline changes and testing, working to agreed timing plans.
  • Planning and managing technician procedures for testing across the tractor fleet.
  • Preparing tractors for testing, including fitting mechanical components and instrumentation.
  • Carrying out testing and inspections in a controlled and methodical manner.
  • Diagnosing faults and failures and carrying out repairs and maintenance where required.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical and vehicle issues and supporting the wider engineering team with technical investigations.
  • Reporting software bugs and mechanical failures within 24 hours of identification.
  • Producing accurate test reports for each activity completed.
  • Recording and documenting non-conformities clearly and accurately.
  • Completing test documentation for tractor builds and uploading the required information and files onto CTS.
  • Working closely with another technician and the Test Engineer to ensure activities are delivered within the required timescales.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who combines practical mechanical ability with a methodical approach to testing and problem-solving.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a technician, agricultural technician, vehicle technician, engineering technician or similar.
  • Good working knowledge of tractor systems and sub-systems.
  • An agricultural machinery background would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience diagnosing, repairing and maintaining vehicles or machinery.
  • A practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to follow technical procedures, workplace policies and testing requirements.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, particularly when documenting faults and test results.
  • The ability to work effectively to tight deadlines and timing plans.
  • A valid automotive driving licence.

Why join?

This is a great opportunity to take your technical and mechanical experience into an engineering environment where your work will directly support tractor testing, development and performance.

You'll be working with experienced engineering professionals, gaining exposure to advanced testing activities and playing an important role in keeping development programmes on schedule.

If you're a practical technician who enjoys working on machinery, solving problems and getting stuck into hands-on engineering, we'd love to hear from you.
