HSEQ Specialist
Location: Southampton
Sector: Logistics / Port Operations
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm (flexible)
Perm Position
Salary: £35,000

We're currently recruiting for a HSEQ Specialist to support operations at a busy Southampton-based logistics terminal. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong health & safety or quality background to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

The Role

You'll work closely with the HSEQ Manager to support all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality across the site. This role is a mix of administration, compliance, auditing, and operational support, ensuring the business meets ISO standards and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the HSEQ Manager with day-to-day HSEQ activities
  • Assist with internal and external ISO audits (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
  • Carry out safety and quality inspections across the terminal
  • Maintain and update SOPs, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
  • Produce reports on KPIs, incidents, fuel usage and compliance data
  • Input and manage HSEQ data using Excel and internal systems
  • Support incident reporting and investigations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and site security standards
  • Provide general administrative support to the HSEQ function
  • Act as a positive ambassador for HSEQ standards across the business

About You

  • Previous experience in a HSEQ, compliance, or safety-focused role
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
  • Proactive, with a positive and flexible approach

Essential Requirements

  • A recognised Health & Safety or Quality qualification
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • NEBOSH qualification
  • IOSH membership
