Accountant (6-12 Month Contract)

Location: Derry/ Londonderry
Contract: 6-12 Month Fixed-Term Contract
Hours: Monday - Friday 9am-5:30pm 37.5 hours

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an Accountant to join a busy and dynamic finance team on a 6-12 month contract basis. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the EMEA Controllership team in delivering accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and accounting operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to develop their experience within a global finance environment while working across financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure timely completion of account reconciliations and resolution of outstanding items.
Prepare and support UK and Irish VAT compliance activities.
Assist with statutory reporting and year-end financial statement preparation.
Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, analysis, and supporting documentation.
Maintain compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and company policies.
Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.

Essential Criteria

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Relevant accounting experience.
Progress towards a professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Desirable Criteria

Experience usingSAP.
Familiarity with BlackLine.
Previous experience supporting audits, statutory reporting, or VAT compliance.
