Field Service Engineer

Stafford Area | £28,000-£35,000 + Company Van, Full Training & Pension

We're partnering with a well-established manufacturer of industrial lubricants and metalworking fluids that has been supporting the UK manufacturing sector for over 150 years. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Field Service Engineer / Fluid Technician to join their technical service team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone from a service engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, automotive, CNC machining or industrial background who is looking to develop specialist technical expertise within a growing sector.

The Role

Reporting to the Technical Service Team, you'll provide on-site support to manufacturing customers across the Midlands, helping to ensure the performance and efficiency of metalworking fluids and associated products.

A significant part of the role will involve supporting a major customer site for approximately three days per week, where you'll work closely with the customer's operational and technical teams. The remaining time will be spent supporting other customer sites across the region.

Due to the nature of the role and regular travel requirements, applicants should be based within a reasonable commuting distance of Stafford.

Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting routine testing and monitoring of metalworking fluids on customer sites
Recording, analysing and reporting results using a bespoke cloud-based software system
Taking corrective action where required to maintain fluid performance and production efficiency
Supporting fluid changeovers, product trials and CNC machine preparation activities
Building strong working relationships with customers and acting as a trusted technical support contact
Providing technical support and recommendations to improve operational performance

Salary of £28,000-£35,000, depending on experience

Monday to Friday, 40-hour working week

About You

We're interested in hearing from candidates with experience in:

Field Service Engineering
Manufacturing
Maintenance Engineering
Automotive
CNC Machining
Industrial or Production environments

You will also have:

A full UK driving licence
Strong communication and customer-facing skills
Good organisational and problem-solving abilities
Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
A positive attitude and willingness to learn a specialist technical discipline

Previous experience with metalworking fluids, lubricants, cutting oils or industrial chemicals would be advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right individual.
