Manufacturing Technician II - Temporary (6-Month Contract) | Birmingham | £13.53 p/h | Immediate Start
The Assignment
We have an immediate requirement for a Manufacturing Technician II to join a leading organisation within the medical diagnostics and life sciences sector based in Birmingham.
This is a 6-month temporary contract supporting the manufacture of innovative diagnostic products used worldwide. Working within a busy Operations team, you'll play a key role in ensuring products are manufactured to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and efficiency.
The assignment is expected to run for 6 months, with the potential for extension.
What the Work Involves
Working as part of a fast-paced manufacturing team, your duties will include:
- Managing your own workload against a published production plan.
- Ensuring materials and inventory are available and accurately transacted to complete assigned work.
- Operating and maintaining designated equipment, manufacturing areas, or processes.
- Completing production activities in line with quality and compliance requirements.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and supporting process enhancements.
- Taking ownership of your work to ensure tasks are completed accurately and right first time.
- Supporting additional operational activities as required.
Hours, Shifts & Pay
Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday, 07:00-15:30
Pay Rate: £13.53 per hour
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Holiday Pay: Accrued in line with agency regulations
What We Need From You
- Minimum 1 year of experience within a manufacturing, production, operations, laboratory, or similar environment.
- Strong quality and compliance mindset.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- IT literate, including experience using Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Ability to learn new processes and follow detailed instructions.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- Comfortable working independently and performing under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good technical aptitude and confidence working with machinery or manufacturing equipment.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within a cGMP-regulated environment.
- Previous inventory management experience.
- Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives.
