Manufacturing Technician

Location: Birmingham
Hours: Monday to Friday, either 07:00am - 3:30pm or 07:30am - 4:00pm (flexibility to suit the successful candidate)
Pay Rate: £13.53 per hour

Manufacturing Technician Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Technician to join a leading manufacturing operation in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a production and laboratory-based environment.

The role is suited to candidates who are reliable, organised, and able to follow processes accurately. Previous manufacturing, laboratory, production, or quality-focused experience would be beneficial, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow production plans and complete assigned tasks accurately.
• Manage stock and materials required for daily work activities.
• Perform routine activities on equipment and work areas.
• Carry out data recording and process checks.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Support quality and continuous improvement activities.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving basic process issues.
• Ensure work is completed safely and to the required standards.

Candidate Requirements

• GCSE-level education or equivalent.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, warehouse, laboratory, or similar environment is desirable.
• Good attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
• Basic computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Excel and other digital systems.
• Good communication and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to follow written procedures and instructions.
• Basic mathematical skills and an understanding of measurements.
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Working Environment

This position operates within a manufacturing and laboratory setting and will require candidates to:

• Work safely whilst handling materials and chemical solutions.
• Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures.
• Lift and move items weighing up to 20kg when required.
• Occasionally work overtime, including weekends, to support operational requirements.
