Location: Birmingham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00am - 3:30pm
Pay Rate: £13.53 per hour
Contract: 6-Month Temporary Assignment

Manufacturing Technician Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Technician to join a busy manufacturing team in Birmingham on a 6-month assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to gain experience within a regulated production environment, supporting the manufacture of high-quality products used across the healthcare and diagnostics sector.

The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring production activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow daily production plans and complete assigned tasks.
  • Ensure materials and inventory are available for manufacturing activities.
  • Carry out routine checks and activities on equipment and work areas.
  • Complete production documentation and record data accurately.
  • Perform process and quality checks in line with company procedures.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist with identifying and resolving basic production issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

Candidate Requirements

  • GCSEs or equivalent.
  • Previous experience within manufacturing, production, warehouse, laboratory, or a similar environment is desirable.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable following written procedures and instructions.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good communication and record-keeping skills.
  • Basic numerical skills and understanding of measurements.
  • Reliable, organised, and able to work as part of a team.

Working Environment

This role is based within a manufacturing environment and may involve:

  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Handling materials and chemical solutions safely.
  • Following strict health, safety, and quality procedures.
  • Lifting and moving items up to 20kg when required.
  • Standing for extended periods during the working day.
  • Occasional overtime, including weekends, to support business requirements.
