Production Worker

CNC Turner (Night Shift)
Location: Yeovil
Hours: 34.5 hours per week (Sun 22:00-07:00; Mon-Fri 00:00-07:00)
Pay: £16.13-£24.20 per hour

You'll join an empowered team in Yeovil, working to demanding aerospace specifications and delivery targets, while continuously improving how things are done.
What you'll be doing:
* Centre lathe turning from start to finish, producing parts to aerospace specifications
* Setting and running bespoke work on 2-axis lathes
* Interpreting engineering drawings and following manufacturing instructions, process layouts, and documentation procedures
* Carrying out Operator Control of Quality (OCQ), including verifying assemblies meet Honeywell and customer standards
* Working effectively in a lean environment to support on-time delivery
* Following safety-critical processes and maintaining a strong Health & Safety focus at all times
* Supporting continuous improvement within the team
What you'll bring:
* Strong CNC turning experience (Mazatrol experience is preferable; Mazak experience is also preferred, but not essential)
* A solid background in CNC or manual turning, ideally within a machining/engineering environment
* Competence with hand measuring equipment such as vernier, micrometer, thread gauges, and plug gauges
* Ability to read and work to engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation
* A clear understanding of the significance of safety-critical aerospace work
* PC literacy to support working practices and documentation
* Teamwork, flexibility, and initiative-comfortable taking ownership to meet delivery and quality targets
* A continuous improvement mindset
Additional information:
* Further training will be provided (e.g., PC skills, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, 5S, HOS principles, general Health & Safety)
* This role is subject to BPSS eligibility, including Right to Work verification, a UK DBS check, and drugs screening
