CNC Turner (Hardinge/2-Axis Lathes) - Weekend Nights or Weekday Nights
Location: Yeovil, UK26 (Honeywell Aerospace)
Hours: Weekend Nights (3 x 12-hour shifts) or Weekday Nights (34.5 hours/week)
Pay: £16.13-£24.20
Ready to turn precision into real impact? We're recruiting a CNC Turner to manufacture aerospace parts to demanding standards, working within an empowered team environment to meet delivery targets-while keeping quality and safety at the heart of everything you do.
What you'll be doing:
* Set and run bespoke work on 2-axis CNC lathes, manufacturing parts from start to finish to aerospace specifications
* Interpret engineering drawings and follow manufacturing instructions, process layout, and documentation procedures
* Carry out Operator Control of Quality (OCQ) checks-confirming assemblies meet Honeywell and customer standards
* Work to timescales to ensure on-time completion and the required standard of output
* Maintain strong working practices within a lean environment
* Collaborate effectively with designers and engineers, using initiative to keep work moving
What you'll bring:
* Experience working with small components and confidence in machining (CNC and/or manual turning)
* A good working knowledge of hand measuring equipment, including Vernier, micrometers, and thread/plug gauges
* A safety-first mindset with consistently high adherence to Health & Safety standards
* Teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to take ownership of your work
* An understanding of safety-critical aerospace practice and the importance of quality and compliance
* PC literacy and comfort working in a process-driven environment
* A continuous improvement attitude
Additional information:
* Training will be provided for PC skills, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, 5S, and HOS Principles (plus general Health & Safety)
* Preference: Mazatrol/Mazak experience (desirable) and an engineering apprenticeship (desirable but not essential)
* This position is subject to meeting eligibility conditions of Export Control Licences and Technical Assistant Agreements
* Shift patterns:
* Weekend Nights: 36 hours/week (Fri/Sat/Sun 19:00-07:00; 3 x 12-hour shifts)
* Weekday Nights: 34.5 hours/week (Sun 22:00-07:00; Mon-Fri 00:00-07:00)
* Mandatory requirements include full BPSS screening (UK right to work checks, criminal records check/DBS, and drugs screening)
